A standard prison or civil authority Japanese dress sword in very good condition. The hilt fittings are crisp and displays good detailing to the engraved brass pierced hand-guard. The wire wrap is un-damaged and the blade shows only minor spotting with evidence remaining of the original waved edge temper line. It also has the original leather buffer and the scabbard could possibly have had a re-paint as these are normally seen aluminium coloured. Never been apart and never tampered with. Watch out for the numerous fakes on this pattern.
