ITEM : L101 - EBERLE Pre 1935 Brazilian
Admirals Naval Dagger
This navy dagger is very similar in construction to the German
Kriegsmarine navy dagger and was in fact produced by a German
family based in Brazil. Made by Eberle, the blade etch wording
dates this dagger to pre-1935 manufacture and was produced for
high ranking Brazilian navy personal denoted by the black grip.
The detail and general quality is outstanding, the blade has
minor dark spots and the brass hilt and scabbard fittings show
some handling wear. These daggers continued to be produced post
WW2, please see description for full details.

ITEM : L102 - UNMARKED 2nd Pattern
Luftwaffe Dagger
A late war unmarked 2nd
Luftwaffe Officers dagger with a wood core, celluloid covered
grip and aluminium based hilt fittings, the blade is unmarked
with much of the original crossgrain remaining and the needle
like blade tip intact. The grip shows minor scuff marks and has
a double twist brass based wire in good condition used by many
of the small manufacturers, the detailing to the hilt parts is
good. The late war steel scabbard has a light rust surface
coating that may clean if required, much of the original silver
finish has been absorbed by the base metal, and is fitted with
pot metal scabbard bands. A good late war example.

ITEM : L103 - UNMARKED 2nd Pattern
Luftwaffe Dagger
This dagger deserves to
be maker marked as the piece is in outstanding condition with
virtually all of the original dark finish intact. This is
contrasted beautifully by a flawless tangerine grip with the
brass or copper based springy wire in perfect condition. All
engraving to the cross-guard is crisp and the oak leaves show
minute stippling to the background. The blade is mint and shows
full cross-graining. Looking at the fittings and the scabbard
screws / throat, this piece was almost certainly made by Alcoso
and would have to rate as excellent +

ITEM : L104 - WKC 2nd Pattern
Luftwaffe Dagger
This gorgeous 2nd pattern
dagger by WKC ( Weyersburg & Kirschbaum ) has the finest
detailing to the hilt fittings that I have ever seen. Other than
a small section of rubbing wear to one side of the pommel, the
detail jumps out at you and is beyond what is normally observed
today on 2nd pattern Luft daggers. Fitted with WKC parts
throughout, this dagger has the bonus of the rarer cross-guard
produced by Weyersburg. Listed on page 151 of Wittmanns book it
bears the defined relief border on the upper cross-guard with
the typical left over right oak leaves observed on WKC Lufts. The
blade has a fully burnished trademark and is virtually mint, the
grip has a very small hairline to a centre segment that is
barely visible and a little plating loss to the sides of the
scabbard shell.
A very well defined example in excellent condition.

ITEM : L105 - UNMARKED 2nd Pattern
Luftwaffe Dagger ( Simulated Ivory Grip )
A late war dagger fitted with an imitation ivory grip.
The daggers itself is finished in airplane grey and has a good
unmarked blade with a lot of cross-grain remaining. The grip has
a wood core and a celluloid coating designed to imitate genuine
ivory, the reverse and sides of the grip clearly shows the
graining effect although the front face of the grip has worn and
is not quite as evident. Double twist brass wire sets the grip
off nicely with a 3/4" split that could be concealed. The tang
of the blade may be slightly bent, as the pommel is a little off
centre but it could be straightened. The fittings on this dagger
are consistent with examples distributed by Horster and is
correctly matched with an E-Pack scabbard.
