ITEM: L102
A late war dagger fitted with an imitation
ivory grip. The daggers itself is finished
in airplane grey and has a good unmarked
blade with a lot of cross-grain remaining.
The grip has a wood core and a celluloid
coating designed to imitate genuine ivory,
the reverse and sides of the grip clearly
shows the graining effect although the front
face of the grip has worn and is not quite
as evident. Double twist brass wire sets the
grip off nicely with a 3/4" split that could
be concealed. The tang of the blade may be
slightly bent, as the pommel is a little off
centre but it could be straightened. The
fittings on this dagger are consistent with
examples distributed by Horster and is
correctly matched with an E-Pack scabbard.
