ITEM : K401 -
SMF Paratrooper
Gravity Knife
A good quality fully
working gravity knife made by SMF, both the blade and
spike springs are original and unbroken. The blade is
very sharp and does show light sharpening and has a
burnished crisp trademark intact. The walnut grip plates
have a nice dark even patina to both sides with no
bruises, chips or damage. Fully numbered "565" and eagle
to spike as it should have.

SMF Paratrooper
Gravity Knife
The blade on this knife is a beauty, no
sharpening and fully cross-grained, the grip plates have nicely
toned,
commensurate with age and
showing a couple of very slight indentations. The blade spring
has a period repaired rivet in place, worn, working and done
along time ago, unfortunately the spike spring is also broken
but the part is still with the knife and was purchased in this
condition. Numbered "972" throughout and eagle to spike.

WEYERSBURG Paratrooper
Gravity Knife
A virtually perfect gravity knife by
Weyersburg, it has full cross-grain and a crisp trademark to
blade, never sharpened and becoming a rarity in this condition.
One grip plate does show indentations but does not detract from
the fantastic graining to the walnut. Fully numbered "85" and
eagle to spike. I am always worried about releasing the blades
on gravity knives for fear of the spring fault occurring as seen
on so many offered today.

ITEM : K404 -
SMF Paratrooper
Gravity Knife
This knife is numbered "1890" to the interior plate
wall, unfortunately the blade spring and thumb release is
missing although the blade drops ok. The spike is working and
eagle marked, the blade has been lightly sharpened but retains
the original shape and shows a clear SMF trademark. Grip plates
are good and have had some work to restore the original finish.

ITEM : K405 - KREBS M7/5 Youth Knife
This is a very clean
youth knife by KREBS, the plating is good although it has
the usual wear marks to the pommel where the press stud from
the scabbard sits and some dents to reverse pommel area. The blade has possibly been
professionally polished as it appears very clean with
minimal cross-grain, deeply impressed RZM mark and no signs
of sharpening. The scabbard is a beauty with what I think is
original paint and all leather intact and supple. Diamond
good and grip plates un-cracked. Maker marked - RZM M7/5

ITEM : K406 - KREBS M7/5 Youth Knife
Another Krebs in good condition, the
plating is still good and unusually has minimal wear to the
pommel stud area, the obverse grip plate bears a hairline
running the length but is only visible on close inspection
and could just be a surface mark, the plate itself is
stable. Diamond is good and the blade has a deep RZM with
minimal darkening that would probably polish out. Scabbard
is good and retaining strap is the layered type made up of
thin strips of leather, very rigid. Paint original and
mostly intact.

ITEM : K407 - WINGEN M7/51 Youth Knife
A 1938 dated very clean
example with crisp motto and RZM makers mark M7 / 51. Blade has
never been sharpened and there are no wear marks in the usual
places on the pommel. Still exhibits good cross-graining and
darkening to the motto and RZM. The emblem has slight damage to
the lower segment but does not detract. Scabbard retains 90%
original paint and throat runners are as new. One of the last to
have the motto on the blade before being phased out late in
1938.

WKC M7/42 Youth Knife
Transitional marked HJ by WKC
with both RZM & Makers mark to blade, dated 1938 this knife
has a crack across one grip plate but is solidly fixed,
plating loss in the usual places and to cross-guard. The
diamond is good, dark patches to blade and scabbard that has
taken the brunt of poor storage over the years, retaining
strap still functional.

ITEM : K409 - LOUPER Early Youth Knife
This is an early maker
marked piece by a rare maker "Louper". The blade is the early
type with no ricasso and has a light motto and a crisp makers
mark stamped on the reverse, also stamped " Ges Geschultz " or "
Patent Pending ". The emblem is missing and has been period
filled with some kind of filler. Paint and retaining strap gone
from the scabbard and blade shows signs of sharpening. A rare
maker with motto!.

Later transitional HJ
showing crisp RZM M7/27 marking to blade and dated 1939, also
shows makers mark. No motto which was phased out in 1937/8. With
only 30% original paint to scabbard, but with complete scabbard
retaining clip and press stud intact. Missing cross-piece which
was a common occurrence due to them being thrown or abused by
the youth. Diamond 100%.

ITEM : K411 - SM Youth Knife ( Post war )
This is an early post war
production of the period HJ and hence due to its age thought it
just about qualified to be listed. The blade is marked SM / 1940
with Germany on the reverse. The quillion has been broken and
blade shows signs of being professionally sharpened, no
scabbard. These where made for the troops returning home after
the war and although dated 1940 was probably made in 1945-46
using original parts.

EICKHORN Weimar Boot Knife
A Weimar boot knife in
outstanding condition, the blade still shows virtually full
cross-grain, the horn grips are undamaged and the thick
black paint is consistent with the Weimar bayonets in my
collection and appears original. A matching scabbard in
excellent condition and knife trademarked with back to back
squirrels for Eickhorn. A seldom seen configuration and even
rarer in this condition.

UNMARKED Stag Boot Knife
Chromed or polished steel
throughout, with solid stag grips secured by sawn off rivets.
Has a false push button to solid eagle head pommel and shows
signs of light period sharpening, this item is VERY sharp. Has
no scabbard and no markings. This knife has been heavily
polished over the years and could account for the lack of
trademark.
