ITEM: H103
A small sized ( 62 ) M1942 Luftwaffe combat
helmet by the firm Eisenhuttenwerke from
Thale. In good condition and finished with
in the typical dark Luft blue paint, the
helmet is un-messed with bearing the
original sweat stained liner which also
looks to be well worn with wear visible
around the upper edges. The strap is missing
although the original liner drawstring is
still in place. The inner rim is clearly
stamped ET62 with the batch number being
"1930". The helmet has taken on a nice
smooth patina from handling wear and has the
usual minor scratches and scrapes associated
with general wear, unfortunately one of
these scrapes has affected the eagles head
to the decal although the majority of the
bird remains in place.
A nice original representative example of a combat helmet that was
carried, worn and survived the later stages
of WWII. I am pretty sure the liner
staining is sweat due the the salty deposits
although it could be something a little more
ominous. SOLD
