been glued and is a colour very rarely seen on an army dagger.
The blade is unmarked and shows some greying, the tang bearing
the Fredericus cross. Generic A crossguard unusually made of
brass with zero finish

twin side retaining screws in good condition.

ALCOSO - ( Type 3 )
German Army Officers
Dagger
This gorgeous Nazi Officer
dagger by ALCOSO has developed a uniform chocolate patina that
is very pleasing to the eye. Fitted with textbook ACS parts, the
dagger has the sideways AWS trademark which dates the dagger
manufacture to post 1941. The blade is excellent as is the
vibrant orange grip, typical ALCOSO shape. It is very difficult to find
a type 3 crossguard by this maker that is not worn, this dagger
has outstanding detail throughout.

ITEM : D104 - WKC ( Type 2 ) German Army Officers Dagger A
virtually flawless Weyersburg last style tomahawk German army dagger
with typical WKC fittings, that is only let down by the chip on
the rear of the grip, the silvered fittings bear an untouched
dark patina with the exception of a few lighter areas where the
original lacquer is still intact. This is especially evident to
the sides of the typical WKC scabbard. Blade bears a fully
burnished trademark and can only be described as outstanding.
Also has an early tapered tang blade.

ITEM : D105 - UNMARKED ( HERDER ) German Army Officers Dagger Although
unmarked this dagger can be attributed to Herder based on the
fittings and configuration and is identical to the one shown on
page 31 of Wittmanns army book. The late war nickel fittings are
in exceptional condition with only slight loss to the exposed
areas of the pommel. The blade exhibits good cross-graining and
minor in / out wear and is in excellent condition and has a
matching nickel scabbard.

ITEM : D106 - EICKHORN ( Type 4 ) German Army Officers
Dagger Marked with the 35-41 trademark this
dagger bears the 2nd pattern crossguard and Eickhorn fittings.
It appears to be of relatively early manufacture with brass
based silver plated parts. The grip has a hairline that shows on
both sides and a door ding to the lower portion of the
scabbard, Although this dagger shows wear it is of a quality
synonymous of Eickhorn production.

ITEM : D107 - EICKHORN ( Generic B )
German Army Officers
Dagger An Eickhorn marked blade and pommel
with a generic B or Herder eagle, an unusual configuration but
due to the finish of the fittings, one that appears to be of
period assembly. The grip is a beauty and deeply toned to an
almost chocolate colour. The scabbard is also heavily silvered
and matches the patina and bright finish of the rest of the
fittings.

ITEM : D108 - WINGEN ( E-Pack ) German Army Officers
Dagger A very early Anton Wingen tapered tang
and slanted grip army dagger, the fittings appear to be brass
based although I am open to alternatives!, and have lost the
majority of the silver plate. The crossguard is an early E-Pack
which are generally seen on these pre-1935 army daggers
manufactured by the smaller makers. The deep tone to the
fittings compliment a flawless deep orange slanted grip, only
let down by re-tipped blade.

ITEM : D109 - PD-LUNESCHLOSS ( WKC Type 1
early ) German Army Officers
Dagger A very rare stamped perpendicular
trademark on this Luneschloss maker marked dagger with early tapered tang, hand
finished fittings and a glorious deep black patina to the
dagger and scabbard. The dagger bears an early type 1 WKC cross-guard and
early WKC scabbard obviously supplied to the smaller
manufacturer. This dagger is completely original and
un-cleaned and has a bright blade in EXC condition showing good
crossgraining. Hard to beat !.

ITEM : D110 - HOLLER ( Type 2 ) German Army Officers
Dagger A rare 2nd type Holler that bears a
hand finished pommel and crossguard, it is thought that holler
utilised excess parts from E-Pack during the latter parts of the
war and customised the fittings, this is confirmed by the lightly silvered and cheaper
base materials exhibited on this army dagger. It is married with
a generic scabbard with matching plating and patina, and has a
Holler marked blade showing good cross-graining.

ITEM : D111 - voos ( E-Pack 2nd ) German Army Officers
Dagger
This German army dagger is by
Emil Voos, a smaller maker but renowned for high quality edged
weapons. It has a nickel silver plated blade that is flawless and is
clearly marked with a stamped TM. The pommel and crossguard are
early-mid period, heavily silvered and show much of the original
background burnishing. The grip is a two tone with the deep
swirls showing a darker orange than the upper segments, this is
probably dirt and is unlikely to be a reaction to light
exposure. Please click on the picture for a
full description.

ITEM : D112 - E-PACK ( Aluminium
E-Pack 2nd ) German Army Officers
Dagger
A late war plaster filled grip adorns
this German army dagger by E-Pack, the dagger is fitted with
with an aluminium pommel and crossguard that would have been
silvered and is prone to wear off because of the base metal.
This results in a dagger that has all the traits of a period
produced rare type aluminium army dagger however, although this
base metal is rarely observed on period army daggers, the
original silver plate distinguishes it from a genuine aluminium
hilted dagger. The blade is good showing some light grey patches
but also with crossgraining still evident, it has an attractive
and unusual punched detailing to the pommel and is matched with
an early scabbard with twin flush mounted side screws.

ITEM : D113 - ALCOSSO ( Hi-lift )
German Army Officers
Dagger 4th pattern " Hi-Lift " eagle
with an orange grip, usually with this configuration cross-guard
the grips are observed in white. I
believe this grip is period ( see description ). The dagger
itself has issues in that the pommel has threaded and has been
glued temporarily in place for display purposes. It is very dirty and every time I look
at it I am tempted to reach for the semi-chrome. The fittings
still show good detail under the muck and both the crossguard
and pommel are aluminium based. The blade is clearly marked with
some light greying. Eickhorn scabbard.

ITEM : D114 - HELLER ( Balloon-man )
German Army Officers
Dagger
A stunning dagger bearing a 1st
type early E-Pack crossguard, pommel and scabbard. The
blade is the plated variety and is flawless and bears the
popular "Balloon-man" Heller logo. The fittings are heavily
silvered as you would expect from early Pack and the buffer pad
on this dagger is the cleanest I have ever seen suggesting
minimal in/out wear. Overall this dagger rates a 10

ITEM : D115 - UNMARKED - EICKHORN ( Type 4 )
German Army Officers
Dagger A type 4 Eickhorn with plated late war
pot metal fittings, the silver wash still showing in places. The
dagger is Eickhorn throughout with the tell tale flat banded
ferrule, large throat to the scabbard and flat headed single
retaining screw. The blade rates excellent with only the
slightest of faint greying, and as was common with late war
production this piece is unmarked.

ITEM : D116 - UNMARKED - HOLLER ( Type 2 )
German Army Officers
Dagger
This scarce 2nd pattern Holler
German army dagger was used twice during the period but only for
short transitional periods, this example is the later of the two
as earlier daggers are normally hand enhanced. The grip is a two
tone, with the inner swirls showing a darker hue and
is very pleasing to the eye. It has a variation of the 2nd
E-Pack crossguard, modified by Holler to suit and is matched
with a punched attractive pommel. The hilt fittings are heavily
silvered and the unmarked blade shows very unusual original
crossgrain that is angled rather than directly across the blade
with some light grey patches. The scabbard is a generic variety
normally observed on this later pattern scarce army officers
dagger.

UNMARKED - ALCOSO - (
Type 2 ) German Army Officers
Dagger
Although this
Heer dagger is
unmarked, it is fitted with ALCOSO parts from top to bottom, all
parts appear to be the early brass based type. The type 2 ACS crossguard is scarce and unusual to find with crisp detailing.
The grip is excellent and the blade bears a tapered tang
expected on a dagger fitted with these early manufactured parts.
The blade has surface greying but no pitting and the ALCOSO
scabbard is missing both screws.

ITEM : D118 - EICKHORN ( Type 1 )
Rare TM German Army Officers
Dagger Brass based fittings on this early
type 1 Eickhorn bearing the double oval stamped trademark to the
blade. The original lacquer to the dagger and scabbard has
turned a golden colour that matches throughout and most of the
silver wash is no longer evident. The grip is an early type and
hand finished for the tang, the blade has darkening and has been
polished, the makers mark rated a 7/10 on the rarity scale. 1st
style Eickhorn early scabbard.

ITEM : D119 - WKC ( Type 2 ) German Army Officers
Dagger This textbook WKC is an early dagger with a
tapered tang on the blade, it has Weyersburg
fittings throughout that display an even dark patina. Lacquer
remains in places and the detail is still crisp with the
exception of minor contamination on the front of the
crossguard. The blade has a glorious frosted appearance with
100% cross-graining evident and a burnished WKC makers mark. The
grip is a bright orange and flawless and the dagger is matched
to a typical WKC scabbard with a minor door ding to lower
portion.

trademark and has late war pot metal fittings. The crossguard
is a generic type A, still showing traces of the original silver
wash. The blade has greying but light and no pitting, the dagger
pommel, ferrule and scabbard are typical Eickhorn manufactured
parts. The grip has a chip to the rear but would probably cover
with a knot.

HOLLER ( Type 2 ) German Army Officers
Dagger A Holler manufactured dagger that
screams quality, it retains its heavy silvering and the majority
of the factory applied lacquer. The grip is undamaged and clean,
the fittings are textbook Holler manufactured, to include a
Holler produced scabbard, The fittings show exquisite detailing
and is matched by a virtually mint Holler marked blade that
displays 100% cross-graining. With the exception of Eickhorn, the Holler produced army daggers finishing and quality
is unsurpassed.

ITEM : D122 -
HOLLER ( Type 2 ) German Army Officers
Dagger Another Holler manufactured and marked
army dagger that has a perfect plaster filled white grip, the
plaster is intact and undamaged. The fittings show
original lacquer in places although the heavily silvered
fittings have a rich patina where the air has penetrated.
The fittings display a bronzed appearance which might suggest
the base metal is early brass based. Full crossgraining remains
and a dark burnished trademark on the blade which unfortunately
has sustained a bend and straightening damage to the lower third. The scabbard
is a Holler.

the highest quality, with evidence of hand enhancing to the
pommel and feathering this one is hard to beat.

UNMARKED - EICKHORN ( Type
1 ) German Army Officers
Dagger
Although unmarked this dagger is
fitted with early Eickhorn parts including a type 1 crossguard.
The blade exhibits good crossgrain and some very light finger
marks that would clean. The wreath on the cross-guard has a
crack that has been reinforced with tin plate on the underside
and the throat to the scabbard has been replaced. The dagger has
issues but remains an attractive piece with desirable early
brass based heavily silvered
parts.

UNMARKED - ( Generic
B ) German Army Officers
Dagger
This German army officers
daggers is unmarked but based on the pommel and scabbard
configuration my guess would be KLAAS, although it could have
also come from a smaller manufacturer who purchased parts from
other companies. The dagger is has a high silver content and the
black patches / patina is caused by air penetrating below the
silver plate. The unmarked blade is mint with full crossgrain,
grip is undamaged and matched with what appears to be a Herder
scabbard.
