ITEM : D116 - UNMARKED - HOLLER ( Type 2 )
German Army Officers
Dagger
This scarce 2nd pattern Holler German army dagger was used twice
during the period but only for short transitional periods, this
example is the later of the two as earlier daggers are normally
hand enhanced. The grip is a two tone, with the inner swirls
showing a darker hue and is very pleasing to the
eye. It has a variation of the 2nd E-Pack crossguard, modified
by Holler to suit and is matched with a punched attractive
pommel. The hilt fittings are heavily silvered and the unmarked
blade shows very unusual original crossgrain that is angled
rather than directly across the blade with some light grey
patches. The scabbard is a generic variety normally observed on
this later pattern scarce army officers dagger.
