ITEM: D114 This scarce,
maker marked German Army dagger by
Christianswerk is in poor condition. The
grip has damage and an old fill or repair
visible to the rear. The blade is pitted
with heavy wear and dark patches, although
the makers mark is still evident. The
fittings are of a quality base, probably
brass and the dagger has taken on a glorious
golden hue with a pleasing rainbow effect to
the patina caused by oxidation. Although
this dagger is not in the best condition,
the maker is very scarce for type
collectors. I have often considered parting
this dagger out but the configuration and
maker is that rare I would prefer to try to
keep the dagger together, albeit in poor
condition.
