GD Collar Patch, RAD Badge and SS
Visor Skull
I must start off by saying that my
knowledge of the items listed below is limited and my confidence
in the originality of both the collar patch and visor skull is
far from 100%. I strongly suggest any prospective purchaser does
their research regarding these individual items as they are sold
as seen.
The skull is more than likely a fake, I was unable to match it to known
originals and although it has what appears to be an RZM
rectangle stamped on the reverse, the marking is unclear. The
frontal details are good, showing an aged appearance and with
both prongs intact to the rear. A convincing replacement that
will not break the bank compared to the cost of an original.
The Grossdeutschland collar patch is a little more convincing and may well
be original based on my limited opinion. The quality of the
weaving, stitching and the materials used are of a very high
standard and the patch has the look and feel of aged fabric.
Further research is recommended.
The RAD badge is however an original, both wheat sheaves are
broken, missing the tips and the retaining pins are missing. The
badge is clearly marked L&M 37 with the RAD triangle and Ges
Geschultz ( Patent ) marking. |
