Wound Badge WW2 Black
This cast solid backed black
wound badge is of very early WW2 construction making it more
desirable than the later hollow back versions. Fitted with a
solid early pin in good condition I have been unable to
determine the maker "NS" although I am sure the information is
available from sources that specialise in these particular
awards. The detail is in fine condition with some loss to the
thick black coating on the uppermost areas. This is a very
solid, heavy example of a desirable badge awarded for being
wounded or suffering frostbite on one or two occasions. These
solid back badges are becoming scarce and this one has the
benefit of being clearly maker marked.
