Imperial Iron Cross 2nd Class

Missing its ribbon this Imperial
German Iron Cross is in excellent condition. The finely detailed
raised inner bead work still shows crisp edges, with minimal
wear to the upper surfaces. Much of the original frosting is
intact and visible and is not plainly evident from the pictures
below. The black inner core is almost perfect, with its original
paint still covering the raised oak leaf sprig, crowns and date
lettering etc. The ring is marked although I have been unable to
attribute it to a maker. These Imperial crosses are becoming
scarce in this condition. |
