ITEM: C108 This late war
German HJ Knife marked RZM M7/85 is from the
maker Arthur Evertz. Produced after the
motto to the blade was discontinued, the
blade bears a well stamped RZM mark and is
in reasonable condition with no evident
sharpening or chips to the blade edge and
retaining the correct shape. There are a few
spots of minor pitting but not major. The
hilt silver plating is in very good
condition considering that many of these
late war HJ's show little evidence of
original plating, probably around 90% intact
with the majority of the loss coming from
the area on the pommel where the retaining
press stud would have sat and rubbed. Both
grip plates are un-damaged with no cracks
although the fit could be better but I think
this is probably down to late war
construction rather than being replaced. The
diamond and enamel look to be perfect, no
damage whatsoever and the scabbard features
a typical pressed cardboard hanging strap
missing the retaining loop and a very good
shell with good runners, original paint, and
95% remaining.
