Paul Weyersburg Personalised Roon
Army Officers Dress Sword
A great conditioned early Roon
dress sword, adorned with highly detailed hand engraving with
the addition of an extra cost personalised langet "WR"
dedication. The use of sharkskin on the grip suggests that this
sword is of early manufacture although it could also be an extra
cost upgrade requested by the original owner. The blade remains
in fantastic condition and has the makers name crisply stamped
on the spline instead of the usual maker mark stamped under the
langet. The scabbard does show some paint loss and minor rust
patches but could be improved with a light cleaning with an
oiled cloth. This sword would have been an expensive purchase
during the period and has remained in great un-messed with
condition with outstanding handiwork to the oak leaf engraving,
listed on page 130 of Angolia's Swords of Germany reference as
an "Unattributed" model.
