ITEM: C103 This Luftwaffe
KS98 by Eickhorn is very heavily plated to
both the blade and the hilt fittings. In
very good condition and bearing the
1935-1942 Eickhorn trademark to an
unblemished blade, it is a quality bayonet.
The blade point / tip is perfect and and as
it left the factory, as is the rest of the
blade, the leather blade buffer is thick
suggesting minimal handling wear and both
grip plates are undamaged and intact. The
thick plating to both the pommel and
crossguard show some very light scrapes
typical of hanging wear, with the only
plating loss being to a virtually invisible
area of the press stud. The paint to the
scabbard remains totally intact from the
area protected under the leather frog with
some loss to the lower half of the scabbard
from hanging wear. The unmarked brown
leather frog is good, a nice patina has
developed and is original to the bayonet.
The felt slug from the pommel slot is
missing but easily replaced.
Totally un-messed with bayonet, with evidence of a very high quality
finish from Eickhorn.
