This late war 1944 dated bayonet by Eickhorn
" 3196w " has been married with a 1940 dated
E-Pack scabbard numbered " 7799b ". The
bayonet is typical of late war production
and has rough casting to the hilt and the
blade areas, both the bayonet and scabbard
retain approx 85% of the blu-ing and the
grip screws show evidence of turning at some
point in the items history. Bayonet
production by Eickhorn in 1944 is thought to
have only reached the " Y " block which
makes this a very late 1944 produced
bayonet.
